What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have given lessons with many instruments and can help you learn whatever seems most interesting to you. We will personalize each of your lessons to fit your goals, be it performance or simply for fun. If there's something specific that you want to learn about, let me know! I love hearing about your favorite fills or beats.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have both professional and personal experience as a drummer. I played the snare drum in marching band, drum set in a performing band, and taught both individual and group lessons to students ranging from young children to adults. Furthermore, I have been playing percussion since 1998 and am excellent at tailoring each lesson to the individual needs of my clients. Whether you want to write your own smash hit or cover your favorite band, I'm the drummer you seek.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been heavily invested in music since I was in middle school. When I decided to go beyond just listening and playing in my room, I joined my first all-girl band at 15. By the time I graduated from high school, I had taught myself to play a handful of instruments and participated in ranked competitions.
