Abbey’s Dance Lessons
About
I've been a dancer for 12 years, 10 years competitively. I am 18 years old, and I currently work as a studio dance and choreography teacher in Eagan. Recently, I won 2nd place overall in a competition with my own choreography. With my group, we have won numerous national titles in different styles of dance including jazz, tap, musical theater, modern, lyrical and hip-hop.
I love sharing my love of dance with others. Teaching others to dance is the best way share my passion and hopefully others will enjoy it as much as I do.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically like to start with a short intro class to see where the student is at and discuss where to go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started my dance training at age 5, and have been a competitive dancer for 11 years. I currently am a hip-hop choreography teacher at a dance studio in Eagan.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Price depends on the number of students and how long the lesson is.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a love for dance and coming up with my own dances. I loved performing but I realized that there was more to me than just a performer. I wanted to teach others how to dance, how to let dance be your escape.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with people ages 5-18 and levels beginner to advanced.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy creating choreography for competitions. I prefer to teach solos, but I do create group dances as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for someone to be your teacher , try to find someone who has just as much love and desire to learn as you do. Yes I am a teacher, but I am still learning more every day. And it is the most exciting part about dance. there is always more to explore.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say none, your needs are important and need to be heard.
