About
I teach primarily beginner and immediate drummers, where I provide an environment of encouragement and support. I am located in Maple Grove, but most of my students see me online, which works quite well with drums. My lessons are custom to each student. I also work closely with parents (for younger students). Each lesson includes a written summary and practice assignment. We can meet weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly. The practice assignment keeps students engaged between lessons.

He’s very flexible and his price is insanely great. You get a lot more than you pay for with David, he goes above and beyond the lesson. Great experience, would recommend!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start off by discussing a student's level of experience and musical goals...what the student wants. From there I put together a specific plan for each lesson. Each lesson includes a written summary and practice assignment. We can meet weekly, bi-weekly, or even once a month, whatever works best for you. The practice assignment keeps students engaged between lessons. Most of my lessons are 30 minutes. It keeps your cost down, plus we can accomplish a lot in 30 minutes. For older students, I will customize the lesson so it fits with what you are working on in band at school. I also teach mallets online... marimba, xylophone and bells.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My mother started me on piano at age-7. I started drumming around age-12. First Junior High Band, then High School Band, Drum and Bugle Corps, High School Marching Band, High School Jazz Band, and playing gigs with local bands. After high school I studied music in college and participated in Symphony Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble. I also played drums three nights a week with a regional band.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30.00 for 30 minutes
$40.00 for 45 minutes

Students in school band or starting school band. Also teenagers and young adults who want to play full drum-set or who are already on full drum-set and want to improve.

I love it when parents send me a video of their child (also my student) playing in a school concert, or any type of performance.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a drum teacher who will keep you interested and challenge your growth. It's also important to have fun.
