About
Here at The School of Music And Mayhem we study rock/pop/country/blues electric and acoustic guitar, drum set, bass, and ukulele. When students are ready, we join together with other students for jam sessions and songwriting projects. Songwriting projects are then recorded in Pro Tools as students learn recording techniques along the way.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with new students I find out which musical artists the student loves. We will then learn songs by those artists. This helps keep the students motivated to learn more because they are excited and proud to play songs by musicans they love!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
35 years of songwriting experience, 20 years of performing experience and bachelors degree in commercial music recording and performance.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages. From 5 to 60, young children to grown adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm most fond of the experience that we, the teacher and student, get to go through together when we have a jam session that developes into a full fledged song... so much fun, and so very rewarding!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that you connect with, relax, and enjoy the experience. Music is awesome. We're really lucky to be able to play an instrument... Life is short, it's paramount that we enjoy the ride!
