Happy Human Tuturing
About
My main focus for tutoring is in Jiu Jitsu and wrestling lessons for beginners. I have over 8 years of wrestling experience, competing in state wrestling competetions in Wisconsin. I also have over 3 years of Brazilain Jiu Jitsu experience, studying under black belt Fabio Moreschalci (Akagi BJJ) and Purple Belt Mark Teubert (Gorilla Combat), both under the lineage of Rigan Machado. I have competed in several BJJ tournaments, earning gold in both gi and no gi competetions. I have a passion for the art of grappling and am striving to learn more myself every day, while helping beginners to grasp the fundamentals and build a solid foundation for themselves. I love to teach others and enjoy the process of continuing to grow myself through that process. Most importantly, I enjoy taking time to learn what an individual's goals are and helping them to reach those goals through coaching, drilling, and focusing on the specific things each person would like to accomplish.
I love to help people learn a new skill. I also enjoy that jiu jitsu is an art where something new can always be learned and achieved. It is a humbling and empowering sport at the same time. It is very challenging, yet anyone with the passion and commitment can learn and improve. I love seeing my own progress and the progess of my training partners. There is a great comrodory that is built into the sport that is very unique and fulfilling. Overall, I know jiu jitsu has helped me to be a better person both on and off the mats.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure to research their experience, qualifications, and lineage to determine if it's a legimate BJJ system or not. Also, talk to the teacher and see if they seem like a good fit for you personality wise. There are experts who are great at the sport, but not very good at teaching others.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what your goals are. Ask yourself why you want to learn BJJ. Then, think about the time that you can commit to it. After that, discuss your goals and your time permits with a teacher or coach that can help you develop a personal plan.
