Richard Cicchetti is a certified, professional dance instructor. He has been dancing for over 30 years. Richard and Sue, his wife and assistant, are the co-founders of Dance For Life Dance Company. They teach Ballroom, Swing and Country Two-Step to people in Private Dance lessons, Group Dance lessons and Social Dance Events in the Asheville NC, Travelers Rest SC, Taylors SC and Greenville SC areas. Together they hold seven First Place World Champion Dance Titles and numerous National titles with the UCWDC, an International Dance Organization. Richard & Sue get great satisfaction teaching people how enjoy dancing. Students enjoy his progressive style of teaching and learn how to dance quickly and correctly.
We Teach People how to dance quickly and correctly.
In couple's dancing there's a Leader and a Follower. In addition to teaching 'Steps', we teach people how to dance together and enjoy dancing with their partner. Have fun dancing at a downtown pub. 1.What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Richard Cicchetti is a dance instructor and promoter of dance workshops and dance events in the Asheville area. He teaches both Ballroom and Country dances to individuals, couples and groups. As a dancer, he holds six World titles. Richard's students enjoy his progressive style of teaching and learn how to dance quickly.
2. What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
People love to dance, especially when they learn how. Richard's desire to teach people how to enjoy dancing inspired him to create his dance company "Dance For Life".
3. What do you love most about your job?
Richard's greatest satisfaction is to see people enjoying the experience of dancing with their partner.
4. What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
The greatest reaction he has ever gotten from his students is to see a big smile on their face with the look of, "I got it!"

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Learn what mucic they like, what dancining they are currently doing or have done. What dances they want to learn and what level of skill they wnat to dance at i.e. social, competition, etc.
I also want to know if they have any health challenges I should know about.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
International DVIDA certification, 14 years of dance experience, six WORLD Champion titles and numerious National titles with UCWC, studied yoga and martial arts for many years, awarded the :Highly Recommended by Locals" from Alignable, preformed at Harrah;s Casino, preformed at Asheville & Buncombe County Preservation Society's Annual Fund raier event,

How did you get started teaching?
Learning how to dance myself first, taking many private lessons in the last 14 years, particapating in 1000's of group classes, a 250-hour teaching trainig program, past experience of teaching martial arts and yoga ans the desire to help people who want to learn how to dance.
What types of students have you worked with?
Couples getting married, single males, single females, young, middle-aged, retired, active and inactive people.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Local Dance events where peope have fun, enjoy themselves and socialize in a nice environment. National and World competitions.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Interview the teacher to mae sure there is a connection of trust, honesty, safety and likeability.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is the level of commitment a student is willing to make. It is important that the teacher knows this in order to work with the student(s) at the level they desire.
