With patience and care - Ms. Buckner coaches the actor to constantly deliver the best of themselves in each moment.
She sees the bright light within every student, finding those unique qualities that make each one shine, and is able to easily direct the individual on how to share their artistry with the world.
Coming in as her student, I felt lost in my acting. I knew that I loved the performing arts, but I lacked clear direction. Ms. Buckner gave me the tools and techniques that sharpened my skills, as she consistently sought to provide me with every opportunity to hone my craft.
From analyzing Shakespeare, to learning how to breathe life into a new work, to teaching the art of the cold read, to building the foundation of the actor’s improv experience, to prepping the actor on how to make a lasting impression in their slate - Ms. Buckner’s coaching services offer an all-encompassing training for the actor.
However, Ms. Buckner’s most notable and admirable quality by far is the unwavering dedication that she shows to each student. Long after Ms. Buckner has taught a student, they will continue to receive her immense love, kindness, and support. More than a teacher, Ms. Buckner offers all of herself to each person as a mentor, friend, and sometimes even a mother to those in need.
She has trained me, directed me, and even nursed me back to health during a particularly bad case of stage fright. For all of this and more, I will forever be grateful and recommend Ms. Buckner wholeheartedly to any and every student looking to begin their acting journey.
