About
I care deeply about my students and their success. You can ensure that I am invested in giving you the best education I possibly can. Additionally, I can offer tools to help you process your work and its results heathily and happily.
Theatre and acting are my greatest passions. You won't find me more excited than when I'm breaking down text, working on finding the best way to play a moment and discussion the psychology behind a character's choices. This is my lifeblood and I love to help people make it theirs as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My expertise is in both auditioning and acting techniques. We would work together on monologue or scene, breaking it down piece by piece, understanding character and intention. I would work with a student on both vocal technique and the physical life of a character.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an MFA in Acting (The British Tradition) from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, in Birmingham, England. My thesis was on auditioning and the techniques thereof. I have an training in Linklater Voice Progression, Laban movement and Michael Chekov acting techniques. I also have a BA in Dramatic Art and Spanish from UNC-Chapel Hill and extensive experience as a producing director.

How did you get started teaching?
Teaching has always been something I have been passionate about. I began working with young people in summer theatrical programs in 2007. I have been a high school teacher and a middle school teacher and have worked in a directorial capacity with both adults and young people.
What types of students have you worked with?
My experience ranges from children aged 4 to adults, middle schoolers, high schoolers, and university-aged students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In 2016 I took a company of actors to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, directing and producing the musical, Godspell. It was an absolutely joyous experience and we were very successful. I cannot wait to get back to that festival!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend ensuring you're working with a teacher you feel comfortable with who also challenges you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should identify three main issues they'd like to work through with a teacher. It is helpful for a student to try to be as clear as possible about their goals.
