Through the initial coaching sessions, we determine what the student's current skill level is and what they wish to accomplish.  They are then set up with their personal student web page at our website and it is loaded with the materials, videos, and audio files that their instructor will be using with them.

As the student progresses through their learning levels, they are rewarded with certificates and trophies and the materials for their next level of achievement are loaded to their web page.

Mr. Brandt holds a BA in Music Education from Michigan State University and an MA in Music Supervision/Curriculum Development from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  In addition, he has studied with Robert Pangborn and Salvatore Rabbio of the Detroit Symphony as well as Charlie Owen of the Philadelphia Orchestra. 

Jim has performed with ensembles that included the Detroit, Rochester, Lansing, and Grand Rapids symphonies as well as individual artists including Hubert laws, Lionel Hampton, Grover Washington Jr., Don Ellis, and The Carpenters.

Mr. Brandt holds memberships in the Percussive Arts Society, ASCAP, and the Jazz Education Network. In addition, Jim is a member of the D’Addario Education Collective, the Sabian Education Network, and the Vic Firth Educators’ Counsel.

Mr. Brandt’s students can be found performing in U.S. symphonies, major label recording studios, and on international music tours as well as with multiple DCI & WGI units.

 

Weekly lessons are available at a cost of $36.00/30 minutes or $72.00/60 minutes.

Lessons are billed in monthly blocks on a month-to-month basis with no long-term commitment.
