I am an Avid USTA player and have played the sport for over 30 years. I have taught on and off for over 25 years. I was ranked as the #1 doubles player in the state of NC at my rating level in 2019 and #3 in the Southern region. I was also the #3 mixed player in NC and #7 in the Southern region. I have been on 4 state championship winning teams and 1 sectionals championship team. I played in college at Lenoir Rhyne University and Spartanburg Methodist College. I have a passion for the game and I impress that on my students. I focus on fundamentals of hitting and how to grip the racket to produce the best shots. I structure the lessons around a warm up session and drills to create muscle memory for consistency of play.
I love being able to help someone improve their game and they look they get on their faces when they know they have done something better.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Discuss where they are and what they would like to improve upon. I then develop an action plan to work on what they are looking to improve on. I then base my lessons on that action plan.
