About
I am passionate about children and about teaching subjects areas such as reading, writing, and math. My tutoring skills stand up because I am a certified NYS bilingual teacher (English, Spanish) with more than 7 years of experience teaching successfully reading, writing, and math in English and Spanish to students from different cultural backgrounds and different ages. I was born and raised in Colombia where I earned a bachelors degree in English and French Teaching from La Universidad de Nariño. At age 23, I moved to the United States and earned a Master's degree in Childhood Bilingual Education grades 1-6.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always pre-assess the student first to identify weaknesses and strengths. I also interview the student in order to learn about his/her personal interests as well as his/her learning styles. The information gained from both the pre-assessment and interview process helpme design lessons that meet my students' needs and match their learning styles.
