This isn’t just violin practice — it’s violin thinking. At Vibrato, we teach violin as both a craft and a language. Each lesson blends technical precision with expressive interpretation, helping students develop not just clean intonation and bow control, but the ability to shape phrases, understand musical form, and carry an audience. Whether you’re preparing for conservatory auditions or rediscovering the joy of playing, our program adapts to your needs — and challenges you to grow.

We provide a very high quality music education at very reasonable prices. All our teachers are experts in their instruments, and have had many years of teaching experience. Our students win competitions, and many are accepted into major conservatories and music schools. Our studios are equipped with grand pianos, and we have a large concert auditorium with a Steinway grand piano, where students perform several times a year.

We offer Suzuki and tradional lessons to students age 3.5 and up. We also offer begnner, intermediate and advanced ensembles. We offer audition preparation for all south jersey, all state, and philadelphia youth orchestras. Our students have a very high acceptance rate into these orchestras. We are degreed, professional musicians and many of our students have won top positions in youth orchestras.

Jake Shim gained international recognition most recently winning 1st Prize and Bach Prize at the 2020 Stulberg International String Competition in Michigan, United States. After winning a prize at the 2020 Irving M. Klein International String Competition in San Francisco, United States and at the 2020 J. S. Bach Competition, Jake won a ‘Isang Yun Prize’ at the 2024 Isang Yun International Violin Competition. In the upcoming season, Jake will make his debut as a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. Gibson School of Music & Arts, established in 1995, operates in Philadelphia and its surrounding areas. Founded by Professor Randy J. Gibson, a child prodigy, the school imparts knowledge in music, dance, and other arts to children of all cultures. The school offers private lessons on virtually every instrument, voice, dance, and art. In addition, they also sell music instruments, accessories, books, and CDs. Over the years, they have taught more than 10,000 students, with some even going on to become Grammy Award winners.
