I believe that each student has an individual way of learning, so I'm passionate about finding the right way to tailor my lessons to maximize my student's learning. Jake Shim gained international recognition most recently winning 1st Prize and Bach Prize at the 2020 Stulberg International String Competition in Michigan, United States. After winning a prize at the 2020 Irving M. Klein International String Competition in San Francisco, United States and at the 2020 J. S. Bach Competition, Jake won a ‘Isang Yun Prize’ at the 2024 Isang Yun International Violin Competition. In the upcoming season, Jake will make his debut as a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.
