Whether you’re looking to build a solid technique, polish your current singing style or just coach for an audition, Chris can help. Chris has both a bachelor’s and master’s in classical voice as well extensive experience performing professionally on the concert, operatic, and Broadway stages.

About Chris:

Chris Newcomer is a classically trained countertenor working in both Opera and Musical Theater. Most recently on Broadway Chris played Jacob Chicken in the TONY nominated Musical THE VISIT alongside Chita Rivera and the late Roger Rees. He can also be heard on the original cast album of THE VISIT. In addition to his work with the Broadway company Chris has toured the country and the world with CHICAGO the Musical (Seoul, Tokyo, Taipai, Dubai, Canada, The Philippines etc.). Regionally Chris has performed at Sacramento Music Circus as well as The Williamstown Theatre Festival. In concert Chris has appeared alongside Chita Rivera at Carnegie Hall for her debut there; NOWADAYS. Chris has twice been a member of the Wolf Trap opera studio at Wolf Trap Opera Company. There he appeared as Castrato in John Musto’s Volpone. Chris grew up just outside Philadelphia where he first developed his love of singing. Chris is a graduate of the University of Maryland Opera Studio where he studied with Linda Mabbs. At Maryland Chris appeared as Oberon in A Midsummer Nights Dream and he played the title role in their new production of Xerxes for which the Washington Post said he tackled the role “Indefatigably”. Chris Is also a graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers (Bachelors).
