About

Hello!

My name is Lauren and I have over 9 years of professional experience working in the theater scene in New York City and regionally. I have in multiple theater Off-Broadway and have been the associate and assistant director to many Tony winning directors including Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown).

Before the pandemic, I was hired as an Audition Moderator at One-on-One, helping decide which hopeful actors were ready to take these advanced classes. Unfortunately, there is not work for me at the moment there - but I still want to work with students who are looking to begin or improve upon their acting! I specialize in Script Analysis, Acting for the Camera, Character Development, Monologue and Scenework, as well as Audition Technique.

I look forward to hearing from you!

I have had the pleasure of working with Lauren as an actor in her productions on two occasions now: once during a summer at Williamstown Theater Festival and then again as part of Ars Nova’s annual ANT Fest right after I graduated from NYU’s Graduate Acting Program. Lauren has a keen eye for helping to bring an actor’s full self to the work of embodying a character. She is able to speak to the specificity and sense of detail that the process of building a character requires as well as effectively communicate how the character fits into the larger story being told. To put it simply: she is an actor‘s director. She sees the big picture but she also cherishes and admires the intimate, personal work that actors do and is thus a dream collaborator. Lauren creates a working environment that feels truly safe, exploratory, invigorating, collaborative, non-judgmental, and fun. She sees people for their best qualities and has a great respect for the scared craft that is making theater. I can’t recommend working with her enough.

Working with Lauren was a pleasure. She was clear and articulate in her analysis of the material. She has the rare ability of tailoring notes to different actors depending on their style. Most importantly, she respects actors and their creative process. Working with her always felt like a collaboration and never a command to rigidly execute a vision. Id work with her again in a heartbeat!

Lauren is an incredibly compassionate, kind and creative acting coach. She has such a natural ability to assess where you are dramatically as well as critically and dramaturgically analyze the script or monologue you are working on. She truly witnesses what you bring to your work and then asks the most inquisitive questions about ways to deepen your understanding of the lines on and off the page. I would highly recommend Lauren for any type of theater work! Not to mention, she is so funny and makes any experience feel like an adventure for the spirit and soul!

Lauren has an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience when it come to acting. But her real superpower is her ability to make that knowledge accessible to her clients. She made me feel completely at ease during our coaching and Id whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone looking to give their monologues a polish!
