About

I was fortunate enough to study with some great teachers during my life and that experience thaught me how to create a method of learning that I first applied to myself and then to my students. Learning is a process that requires time and I personally believe that this process must be enjoyed. I found that the best way that makes this possible is learning through music first, getting to understand and internalize the fundamentals of your instrument (drums in this case) by playing together with the music you like. That is the first step that allows the student to go deeper in the knowledge of drumming while having fun.

I've been teaching professionally since 2018. While I was a master student at the conservatory of Purchase College, I was asked to teach drum lessons to college students who weren't enrolled in the music program but wanted to take music lessons as a minor. Since then I've been teaching privately and as a drum instructor for a music school in Manhattan called Music Beans.

I have Bachelor's degree in Jazz Drums from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and a master in Jazz Performance from SUNY Purchase where I studied with Professor Kenny Washington.

I like helping my students accomplishing their goals but more than that I love seeing them enjoying the process of learning about the instrument and music. I believe that Music is not just about achieving something that you want, more importantly, the whole process of understanding it will enrich you more than the result itself.

    Frequently asked questions

First I see what is the experience he/she has on the instrument and what he/she loves about it. Usually I start from there, helping them developing their passion for the drums through music.

I've been a student myself during my entire life so I got to know how the learning process works since I experienced it first hand! I studied jazz performance in two different conservatories where I graduated with a bachelor and a master degree in music, during this time I had the opportunity to teach both privately and in music schoold especially during my last two years of masters.
