I teach not just the violin but music. I provide context. I teach some music theory and music history. I think it helps to understand what you are playing and where it came from. I have degrees in composition and music theory as well as undergraduate degrees in economics and philosophy. Also, I really emphasize sound. I think it's so important whether you're learning the violin at 6 or 60. Sound is so magical; it surrounds and stimulates us. You can feel the violin vibrate when you play it! Hi! I teach private lessons in acting, singing, guitar, piano, violin, cello, and bass. I love giving private students the tools to reach their goals and I like seeing the joy in their faces when they accomplish something new. I hold my students to high standards and I set high expectations.

I teach beginners as well as proficient students of all ages. I help the student find their own sound and develop good technical approaches based on the individual's current abilities.

I am comfortable teaching students of all ages, and enjoy exploring the musical interests of each student. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Viola Performance from Juilliard in May, where I gained private teaching/performance experience. While at Juilliard, I spent time working with students in NYC, on the Navajo Reservation in NM, Tel Aviv, and Portland, OR.
