About
Communication is key between myself and my students. What sets me apart from all other dance instructors is that I have the ability to adapt to each student’s personality which allows the relationship of movement and communication to blend seamlessly. Custom packages are available and are designed to suit your dance level, and schedule, leaving you nothing to worry about once you hit the dance floor. Accommodation can be made for last-minute requests.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work on understanding how they process information and work accordingly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied partner dancing since 2000 and had teacher training for Ballroom as well as medalist exams. I continue to study and keep my knowledge of the dances up to date.

How did you get started teaching?
I was an actor who was looking for an outlet in terms of movement (and I wasn't a trained dancer). I saw an ad in the actor's paper, backstage for Swing & Salsa Lessons. and the rest is history....
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children as young as 8 years old through adults who are in their 80's. I have had a couple of clients who were deaf. I have taught religious couples (mainly Jewish) and worked with in their guidelines. And I have worked with an autistic adult.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My most recent event is ongoing at the moment. I met a couple over two years ago at a Jazz Club & Restaurant where I was teaching the beginning lesson during the band break. They were getting married and then pandemic hit. They reached out to me over a month ago and I have been teaching them virtually their wedding dance. I was skeptical about how well this would go without me physically being there to help explain certain movements... however after going from swing to waltz and then landing on foxtrot.... THEY are AWESOME.... they have learned a couple of intricate moves and one called the death drop! This is at the moment one of my fondest events.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would look for someone you connect to. Look at their reviews and then talk to them over the phone. A lot can be said on how one connects over the phone.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
This is a tricky question. if you are a total beginner, you might not know what you are looking for.... In terms of dance... are you looking for partnered dance versus ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and the like?
If you know the style you are interested in and are a beginner.... Think about how much time you will spend on practicing, that will help you decide how often you will need lessons.
The more experienced dancer who is looking for review or branch out into a new style.... be honest with yourself in terms of the level of dancer you are.... it helps the teachers understand what you need.
