Alex Illustra
About
I’m a citizen of the world who experience humanity through art and practice the abundance through my creativity in the graphic design and illustration industry. I define myself as a multidisciplinary creative visual artist, with the ability to think and act strategically. With 14 years of experience, my abilities are far ranging, I have knowledge in almost all-designing softwares and arts techniques.
One of the things that I most love doing is learning, so every year, I have allowed myself to learn about current design and art trends, process, and theories. I also love learning from you and your needs and with my experience and wisdom, take you wherever you want to go in the world of art.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It's depends of his/her level of experience but usually I start with the most basic shapes in 2D and creation of shadows to add volume. After a few exercises in black and white, we'll start talking about colors and visual development to draw real objects in 3D. I help them to explore, create, and develop their own original ideas, providing inspiration, guidance and tools to be creative.

I am an illustrator, with 14 years of experience. I am also an artist and I have exhibited my art in different countries during my career.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in an indigenous community as a volunteer in a small town where I moved in after I finished my associate degree in Illustration. After a couple of years, when I moved into another town, I started teaching at a university level as a Illustration Instructor.
