15 years of full time teaching and coaching at West Orange tennis club and Brook lake country club. During the summer I worked at Mountain Ridge country club for 13 years. presently, I work at Orange Lawn tennis club. I coached both men's and women's teams for Rutgers's Newark for two years. I have a P2 certification from the USPTA and have been a member for the past 16 years. I think my greatest technical accomplishment my percentage of students who go on to play USTA tournaments. 80% of my long term students(minimum of 4 years of lessons) go on to play USTA tournaments. While excellence is important in this sport, its even more important for the student and the coach to be able to have fun while progressing in the sport. One reason my students are successful is I focus on developing sound fundamental stroke mechanics. Good mechanics result in superior ball control which all elite players have. I learned the correct mechanics from my dad(who was a professional coach)and I enjoy sharing that knowledge with others so they can enjoy the sport...which I think is the best sport to play for your whole life!
