Hello and welcome to my music studio. My name is Kimberly Walton, and I have over 20 years of experience teaching private lessons and group classes virtually and in person. I am based in New York City, and I love teaching all types of music, from voice and piano lessons to songwriting and music theory. About Me Hi, I’m James — a multi-instrumentalist and experienced music educator with over 7 years of teaching experience. I specialize in guitar, bass, piano, drums, music production, and songwriting. From 2018–2022, I taught music in schools and privately, working with students of all ages and skill levels, both in-person and online. My teaching style is student-centered and practical: I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, whether that’s playing their first song, improving technique, writing original music, or diving into recording and production. My teaching focuses on helping each student achieve his or her unique goals in music production or songwriting, in whatever genre or style it might be. While most young producers seek tips and tricks from sites like youtube (which can be super helpful!), I provide individual guidance and mentorship which are invaluable for young or beginner artists.
