Frequently asked questions

First is finding out exactly what the student wants and what their goals are. Next is making sure the student feels comfortable and is having fun during the lesson. Next is determining the process to get this particular student to progress since every student learns differently and has different skills to learn in a different order.

I have bee trained in all forms of partner dancing, body movementand musicality by the industires top coaches. I have been judging dancing for the past 25 years so i understand different styles of dancing.  I am passionate about social lead and follow dancing not competition dancing.

Yes, my private lessons are $80 per a 60 minute hour for a single lesson. I do have discounts for students who wish to purchase 5 or  ten lessons at a time. We have no contracts.

All our group lessons are priced at $100 for a 6 week series of classes. There is a large discount if a student signs up for more that 1 group class at time.

My background before dancing was figure skating. When I stopped skating I begain training and teaching dancing. The transition seemed logical since many of the techniques are similar.

I have worked with students from the ages of 15  to 70. I teach both social dancers as well as competitive dancers. I also work with students with a wide range of physical disabilities.

We have theme parties throughout the year. We are preparing for our annual Halloween party which is always fun with great costumes and prizes for the best costumes.

I would advise any student to first ask the teacher what their TEACHING qualifications and succeses are, not thier dancing awards. Next, ask to see the students of the teacher they are considering. If you like the way the students dance then you know that the teacher is qualified and sucessful.

Fist how much money do they wish to spend. Dancing should NOT be too expensive. We work here at Rhythm in Shoes to give quality teaching at a reasonable price.  Also consider if you have to sign a contract. We have no contracts here at RIS
