About

Hey! My name is Ben, and I've been playing Percussion since I was 6 years old. I started out learning Drumset, which transitioned very naturally into learning Marching Percussion for my High School's Marching Band. I am the former Drum Captain at Toms River High School East, and I firmly believe that teachers should never stop learning. I am still actively learning from my own teachers, because no one can ever learn all of any one subject, percussion included. I am excited to work with you, and I hope we both learn from working together! More Information about me upon request.

I love playing, and my favorite part of teaching is helping others of all ages love playing as well. In my experience, playing Percussion has helped me with confidence, facilitated emotional expression, and helped forge connections with others that will last a lifetime.

Frequently asked questions

I like to keep a very relaxed attitude during lessons. I enjoy cracking jokes while remaining focused on the lesson at hand, and I absolutely adore playing right along with you!

I have been Playing Percussion for the last 11 years, and I love it more than anything. I was Center Snare and Drum Captain for my High School marching band and have played both Marching Tenor Drums and Marching Bass Drum. In addition, I was a member of the advanced band in my school and successfully auditioned and secured a spot as one of two set drummers in my schools Jazz band. My position as Center Snare required me to teach almost non-stop, and I loved every second of it!

I am flexible when it comes to pricing, but I prefer to start at $25-$30 per 30-minute lesson and then bring it down when it becomes a consistent commitment.

I got started teaching when I acquired a leadership position in my high school drumline, and began teaching my friends and younger students how to play their respective instruments.

I typically work with high school age students (14-18) and middle school students (11-13).

My last marching band championship show was one of the best experiences of my life. The ability to pick up a pair of sticks and forget everything else that could be stressing me out is one of the most magical things in this world to me, and I hope that I can convey that to my students.

Give me a call! I belive that we should have a real, on the phone conversation and maybe even an in person consultation for you to really decide if I'm the best fit for you!
