About
About Me: Hello! I'm Jake Lambert, I recently graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where I earned my BFA in Acting. During my time at NYU I studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, Stonestreet Studios, and Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. I've been acting for over ten years and have studied all facets of the performing arts including: stage acting, screen acting, comedic improv, singing, dance, speech, dialects, Feldenkrais, tai chi, and more.
If you are interested in auditioning for a performing arts program at a college or university, my lessons are for you! Just 4 years ago I was in your shows. I know how overwhelming the college audition process can be, and how much is at stake when it comes to applying to your dream schools. As your teacher, my goal is to ease your mind about the process and ensure you enter the audition room (or virtual audition room) feeling fully confident and ready to rock the audition. I will impart in you the many tips and tricks I've learned about the audition process, while simulataneously developing acting technique that you'll take with you throughout your acting career.
Acting has been my greatest love since the moment I laid my eyes on the screen. Even in the darkest of times, people will always turn to art - to laugh, to cry, to inspire, or escape. For that reason, the arts is one of the most crucial industries for the survival of humanity. I can't imagine my life without acting because of all it has given me as well. Through practicing the craft of acting you will get to know yourself, increase your self confidence, and fully develop your sense of expression as an artist. Working with students and watch them grow into their best selves as people and as performers is the best job I could ask for!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want to tailor my lessons to you, the student. That's why the first thing I will do as your new acting teacher is get to know a bit about you, as an artist and as a person. We'll talk about your goals and what you're hoping to achieve through your acting lessons. I'll also share a bit about me and my process as a teacher, so that you can evaluate whether I'm the right teacher for you! Acting is very vulnerable, so while I'd love to work with you, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident with me, so that you'll later be able to fully delve into the acting work.
