Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We first discuss the students previous dance experience and goals for dance class.
We start with the basics of alignment and coordination.
We then move through an appropriate warm up, increasing range of movement and musicality, either at the barre, or in center.
After we stretch, we start using the dance space, slowly at first, until we are ready for jumps and traveling across the floor.
Class usually ends with expressive reverance (curtsies).
Depending on the student, I sometimes give exercises or gentle stretches as "homework".
