I just finished a consultation with Ron about putting together my reel - we looked back at the short films created in class and all that I have learned since deciding to look into acting classes in 2019! Ron and his crew put so much effort and time into shooting those films. I still remember Ron lying on a cold cement sidewalk one night for nearly an hour to operate a light switch to get the timing of a scene just right!
Ron had great suggestions for using certain clips and the pacing of my reel. Not only did I appreciate his enthusiastic attention to putting it together - I again learned more about marketing and storytelling!
In addition to Ron’s expertise, the other things I have especially enjoyed at Story Quest are the opportunities to learn from other industry professionals and my talented classmates.
The time has flown by - for those of you thinking you cant pursue this art while youre working, Ron will help you make meaningful progress despite your schedule. Producing my first short film with Story Quest was beyond fun and I am certainly looking forward to doing it again. And again, etc., etc. AnnC

Sol Academy has been the biggest blessing to my life since moving to New Mexico three months ago. Ron and Chris are not only amazing teachers, but they are very knowledgeable actors/ filmmakers who understand how the industry works because they have have experienced it, and still do.
Ive had the pleasure of working with Ron Weisberg, who is the most passionate, fun, and down-to-earth acting teacher Ive met. When I take his classes, I can expect that he will patiently and thoughtfully guide me through my scenes in a space that makes me feel safe and comfortable. Ive not only advanced quickly in my career since starting at Sol, but Ive also learned a lot about myself. Ive done four courses so far and I look forward to the next one! Honestly words cannot express how much I recommend Sol Acting Academy. I took my first acting class, Foundations of Acting, with Ron Weisberg as a way to explore acting a bit and allow myself to build confidence when speaking in front of groups. I am now on my fifth workshop/class with Sol! Never in my life have I had so much fun learning a new craft and to my surprise developed a strong passion in the industry.
Ron does an amazing job creating a comfortable and fun environment when performing in front of each other. One of the best things about Ron is his patience and the way he takes time to listen to each and every student. He gives you insightful feedback that allows you to develop your acting skills further each time you go to class. His love for the craft is just infectious and truly engaging. I have also met some of the most amazing people in my classes that have been so supportive as we watch each other grow in class.
Sol also brings in some of the best industry professionals and real working actors from all over like LA and NY to work with you. Sol makes sure you have all elements of acting from audition prep, to business of acting, scene study, monologues, improv, etc covered.

The most compelling quality at Sol Acting Academy is the care and individual attention students -- even rank beginners like me -- receive from Ron and also from Chris. My classes include students as young as high school, and as old as I, with an assortment of qualities and needs, but each is individually tutored to excellence and success, while Ron, particularly, encourages a community of mutual support. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I learn about their back ground and level of experience, then cater a process to each student, usually involving proven acting techniques mixed with character improvisation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Theater from The University of Texas at Austin and have studied at multiple studios after that including the Sam Christensen Studio and Character improv at Groundlings, LA’s top improv school for actors.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
it is about $17/hr for 3hr group classes
or $70/hr for private sessions
How did you get started teaching?
My grandmother was an actor which inspired me, i moved to New Mexico after acting school at UT to be near her and found there was a need for real training here.
What types of students have you worked with?
I’m an all inclusive studio, any race gender or age is welcome, and I’ve worked with every kind of actor, thousands over the 10 years teaching! My students have gotten lead roles in feature films, agents, and make their own movies!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of the studio’s projects won 2 awards, best short film and best Actress at High Dessert Screening!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look up coaches on IMDB and see if they act alot, went to school for it, and directs movies!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do they give free audition preps? I do.
