National Institute Of Flamenco

The National Institute of Flamenco is a non-profit organization that works hard to ensure access to study at the Conservatory. By building community partnerships, the Institute is able to subsidize tuition and provide yearly scholarship opportunities. The high professional standards set by the Encinias family and their firm nurturing approach to education have positively impacted many lives and created a close-knit, synergistic community dedicated to arts education and flamenco study.

As one of the premiere flamenco preparatory schools in the country, the Conservatory of Flamenco Arts provides its students with skills to thrive in the global context of flamenco with a 12-level curriculum encompassing year-round pre-professional training, children’s and adult community classes, performance training, and engagement with Spanish guest artists. By welcoming seasoned and novice flamenco students of any age from all over the country, the Conservatory aims to educate individuals and families in the study of flamenco music and dance, all while instilling values of hard work and perseverance; values that benefit students throughout every aspect of their lives.

Everyday, beginning at 8 am, our Conservatory of Flamenco Arts buzzes with lively music and intricate rhythms. There are so many aspects to the National Institute of Flamenco, from our small boutique with stunning skirts made in house, to our Tablao Flamenco performance venue. There is a little piece of flamenco magic for everyone; no matter their age or skill level. We see students come alive, break barriers, awaken passions, and learn to love themselves and each other.

The teachers at the Conservatory of Flamenco Arts are regarded for their curriculum, artistry, and programming as truly world class dancers. We are considered the epicenter for flamenco outside of Spain. With regular visits from the Guest Line, in partnership with the University of New Mexico, the top names in Flamenco often hold workshops for all students and set choreographies for our performing companies.
