About this pro

It is mind over matter that’s it and that’s all. I’ve suffered many hardships over the past few years. Everything from stage fright, financial uncertainty, and the loss of my best friend my mom. There was always dance to pull me through. I’ve studied at Laney College of Oakland and City College of San Francisco. I’ve taught privately and at recreation centers in Sacramento, CA. I even opened my own dance space Miko Ward dance studio in 2013. I closed it sometime ago but I still dance. It’s my passion and I love it no matter what! My specialty is hip hop dance and confidence building. I wi work with you because you matter and we all should be dancing. I’m out of town until June 25, 2018. I hope to hear from you soon.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

As an instructor I want you to feel comfortable. We are not just just a having a dance lesson. We are having a dance experience.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I think about my mom quite often and she has helped this year. So I have too many fond events to think of I could not name just one.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Well who is the teacher favorite dancer and why? What are your top 2 dance eras? What type of music will be played during the lesson? How comfortable will the instructor be with filming parts of the lesson of at all.
