Hello, my name is Steve Geller and I offer private drum instruction from your home or mine. I have been working successfully with kids ages 7 to 16 years old. I primarily work in the Summerlin, Centennial Hills, Providence and Northwest areas of Las Vegas. I provide comprehensive studies for the drum pad and drum set including reading, rolling and rocking the kit. I make the lessons fun and entertaining while the student learns the essentials of drumming. I can have your son or daughter playing in no time.
I like helping kids and enjoy watching my students progress, seeing them turn into promising musicians. I like sharing my knowledge and experiences as I pay it forward to the next generation of drummers.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like teaching technique building a foundation from the ground up so that our hands and feet have good habits to work from for development. Technique is everything from hand / foot positions to practice excersises. Working on beats and fills around the drums to become more musical and understanding how to phrase. Once we build up a vocabulary of rhythm, I incorporate music from an Ipod so they are able to play along with their favorite songs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of The Philadelphia College Of The Perfoming Arts with a Bachelors degree in the Performance of Percussion - Jazz Emphasis. I have been teaching in Las Vegas for more than 10 years. Mostly private intruction, I still teach through Brill Music Academy in Summerlin. Other businesses I've taught at were NW Music Academy, Ensemble Arts Music, and Sam Ash Music. Some students have been with me over 5 years, usually from Middle school thru High school.

$30.00 for 30 minutes
$40.00 for 45 minutes
$50.00 for 60 minites

What types of students have you worked with?
I have students of all ages. From as young as 3 years old to an 86 year old woman. I enjoy teaching everyone. I personally think a 6 or 7 year old is a perfect age to start.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I get invited and enjoy my students performances through school events. Whether it is marching band competitions or honor band and jazz band concrerts. It is a sure way to see your student progress and come into their own as a musician.
