Carmen Caceres Dance Lessons

DanceAction is an artistic collective that combines the talent of several collaborators in dance, music, drama, and visual arts. All these artists come from diverse backgrounds and have their individual artistic aesthetic, but work together as a team in this creative platform to produce performing art works.

We share the same urge of reflecting about social issues, people, and relationships through our craft. Our primary purpose is to convey a message that will generate awareness and hopefully will create changes.

In terms of movement, in DanceAction we are constantly questioning the structure of choreography. We include the practice of live improvisation, use chance procedures, deconstruction of the form, and indeterminacy in the composition and performance of the work. We explore the meaning behind the movements, actions, and gestures, and ultimately the reach of dance as a form of expression.

Through DanceAction we aim to return to an organic form of movement, developing the skills to perform a wide range of actions without interfering with the natural process of the body. In order to find the source of creativity, we reset mind and body into a neutral state, which allows us to find our own creative process.

Finally we conceive performing art works using all those elements that we have at hand, dance, music, drama, and visual images. We understand that art is a form of expression that should work at the service of an idea.
