Hello! My name is Lauren Jaeger and I have been a professional dancer and teacher for over 17 years. I believe that dance is an art everyone should be able to experience. My classes focus on healthy technique as well as the catharsis of movement.
Dancing has always been a kind of therapy for me. It has allowed me to express myself when I feel shy, grieve when I am sad, celebrate when I am happy, and lift my spirits when I am feeling down. It has kept me in shape for my entire life, and allowed me to slow down and focus on myself when I have been overwhelmed.
When the pandemic began, I created a series of classes called "Mini Movement Breaks" for people (dancers and non-dancers) to get up and move for 15-30minutes. My clients come from all different backgrounds, but agree that these classes help to brighten their day, and keep their bodies and minds active.
She's very positive, very fun. Her choreography is right at my level. She's so gifted it makes you relax and dance your best.
Lauren is a professional and creative dance instructor. She gives positive feedback and is kind to her students to help them improve. Lauren makes class fun and comes up with exercises that strengthen dancer's technique and helps her students become better dancers. Her students enjoy her classes and I would recommend her as a dance instructor.
Lauren is a tremendous dance teacher. She is patient, professional, motivating and kind. My daughter has trained with her for the last 16 months and loves her. Lauren is great in communicating with me about each session and always provide helpful suggestions for my daughter. Ballet is always fun with Lauren, especially when she plays Disney music!
Lauren is a beautiful dancer and an even more talented teacher. She is patient and energetic, and great with kids and adults. Ballet with Lauren is anything but boring!
When working with a new student, I like to get to know them a little. I start out with a variety of exercises/combinations ranging in difficulty. This helps me to determine an appropriate level for a starting point. Then we progress at the learning rate of the student.
I graduated magna cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a BFA in dance performance and a concentration in ballet.
I have performed professionally with numerous ballet, modern, and contemporary companies over the past 17 years. Some of these companies include Buglisi Dance Theatre, MOMIX, and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company.
I have been teaching ballet, pointe, modern, and creative movement since 2002. My students have ranged in age from 1.5yrs to 90yrs, and vary from recreational dancers, to professional dancers.
