What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process for working with a new student is to find out their goals. We talk about weakness and strength. We are trying to find out if they have a short term goal and long term goal. After we determine their needs we will begin the process. I just started with Lessons.com so you will not see any actiity but I have been drama coaching since 2004. I have worked with theater professionals from actors on telivision sitcom or on theater stages.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recieve training from several celebrated coaches Tracye Marable of the Spirit Actor . Juliet Smith trained by James Pringle. I went to various training and also have taught since 2003.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer one on one at $75 an hour. At this time I only doing virtual classes do to coronavirus.
How did you get started teaching?
I acted for several years before teaching and begin teaching at a private school in 2003. Also I drama coach for a show about the Harlem Shakers.
What types of students have you worked with?
My preference is advance beginners but have worked with beginners and professionals as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am a film festival groupie so it to many to chose from.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire a teacher that is willing to listen to your goals so they can better serve you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do you want one lesson for feedback? Are you looking for career direction? But I strongly encourage to take several classes so you can see the improvement.
