About this pro

I have a Master's degree in dance education from NYU and love sharing my passion with the community of dancers. I am thrilled to be inheriting The Coleman School of Dance where I grew up dancing teaching ballet and modern dance to dancers ages 5 to adult. I'm friendly and believe in helping people reach their untapped potential.  https://www.facebook.com/ColemanSchoolOfDance/

I love meeting new dancers and sharing information. It's so rewarding to help someone else meet their dance goals.

So much movement and exploration on my own as well as with others. Combining brains with someone else for an hour or two is always so fun and let’s you explore anything.

I have worked with Christie for 2 years now. I have taken her class, I have danced in her dance pieces, I've worked for her school, and she's has great qualities in all of those roles. First of all she's a great human being, she is a very dedicated teacher, very positive, very professional, starts classes on time, gives her best, very creative on how to approach students of different ages, and makes sure the students understand the lesson. I think part of the reason why her students love her so much is because she's very positive, loving to her students, and she communicates with them, she talks to them, she hears their ideas, thoughts, she gives them space to be heard, creative and encourages them in every step of the way. As a choreographer she's very creative, very hardworking, very organized. She's respectful, appreciative and friendly to her dancers. I loved being her dancer.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to get to know the students I work with and set goals with them. Then I write lessons that fit the goals they have for their artistry, skill building, fitness and general well-being.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I received my Masters Degree at NYU for dance education. I have had the privilige of choreographing for acclaimed companies abroad including The National Ballet of Kosovo in Kosovo and The Monmouthshire Youth Dance Company in Wales. I currently direct The Coleman School of Dance in New Rochelle and am really excited to teach ballet and modern dance this year!
