About
For me teaching music is more about inspiring, passing the spark of passion, helping to grow, showing what is possible and helping to get there, helping to realize the potential that is already inside the student. Technical skills are important but they are not the most important, technique should serve the musical vision (doesn't matter how old is the student)
One of my drums teacher told me once: "Do not play drums, play music (with the drums)" and that is what I'm passing to my students.
Music is a different world in which one of us has a lot to discover about your self. I just want to share this journey.

First I would like to know the person a little bit more. Talk about needs and expectations. Feel what person migh need. Each one of us is different, one person might need technical training and is willing to work hard on it, while the other maybe a very young person just starting an adventure with the music and need an inspiration, fun and more like a tour around this amazing world of playing music.
And than choose the way of teaching accordingly.

I think you need to look for someone you feel good with, feel save and willing to work with. Teaching / learning music is a very sensitive area, so look for someone you can trust, some one that will feed what is the best in you.
