I provide customized (currently VIRTUAL) cooking lessons for foodies of all ages and abilities. I teach private lessons as well as small group workshops. As a former educator and a trained chef, I understand how to prepare both my lessons and gourmet yet approachable food! I tailor instruction to the culinary goals, dietary needs and preferences of each client, make classes engaging and memorable and build upon existing skills for lifelong learning. Hi, I'm Dianne, founder of Off-Book Cook. I have worked in New York City restaurants, cafes, bakeries and catering companies since 2007, but my true passion is teaching people to cook at home.
By teaching one-on-one classes focussing on cooking techniques rather than recipes, my goal is to teach you the building blocks of cooking that you can use over and over again throughout your life.
By the end of our lessons together, I hope you'll be able to open your fridge and cabinets and be able to "throw something together" without consulting a recipe or having to buy lenghty lists of new ingredients.

My style is non-traditional. I create recipes as I go, using my cuisine as an art form, with items that happen to be in my kitchen at the time or that I procure for a dish I've been craving. I developed this style from being a working professional and a creative having little time and a somewhat advanced palate.
