Karen H. says, "In August, 2012, under Patrick’s guidance, I returned to piano study after a hiatus of 10 years. With infinite patience and great sense of humor, Patrick helped me rebuild my technique, expand my repertoire and regain my confidence as a pianist. As an educator myself, I can attest to the fact that Patrick has an excellent understanding of adult learners and their particular needs. I recommend him highly!" Read more

I teach not just the violin but music. I provide context. I teach some music theory and music history. I think it helps to understand what you are playing and where it came from. I have degrees in composition and music theory as well as undergraduate degrees in economics and philosophy. Also, I really emphasize sound. I think it's so important whether you're learning the violin at 6 or 60. Sound is so magical; it surrounds and stimulates us. You can feel the violin vibrate when you play it! I love the challenge of figuring out what will help different types of people understand the music and learn the instrument. Teaching both kids and adults...

I offer a fresh perspective on the role of the music teacher. I'm certainly here to help my students learn the fundamentals, but I believe in a why-first approach to lessons. If I can't clearly articulate the reason why we're doing something and the impact it will have on a student's progress or understanding, then we don't do it. Nothing is arbitrary, and every moment is useful. I try to make sense of things by observing the patterns and relationships at play in the world around me, and I often employ this approach in my curriculum. Whether we're discussing scales, chords, saxophone technique, vocal technique or songwriting—everything can be...

As a theory teacher, Patrick Kreeger possesses the exact teaching style the subject requires. Patience, availability for questions and dedication to my desire to learn best define my experience with Patrick. It was such dedication that also made him call me out when he didn’t think I was doing my best or was making careless mistakes. Perhaps this wouldn’t be that outstanding except that Patrick did all of this long distance; he was in Philadelphia and I was in Delaware. He was timely in mailing me assignments and tests, and even more so in grading and returning them. I learned more from him in the 2 years I studied with him than I did in my last year of theory in my undergrad at music school. If you have the opportunity to study with Patrick Kreeger, consider yourself lucky. You couldn’t find better quality teaching elsewhere.”

Jason really understood my situation—a kind of writer's block about the rhythm of my lyrics. He zeroed in on the how and why of it and gave me very clear help that "unfroze" my writing. And production-wise, he's amazing.

David is an amazing teacher! I've been working with him since 2019, first on electric bass, then music theory/composition/Logic and electric guitar. We've done in person and online classes, both of which have been great. He's incredibly knowledgable and patient. Anyone would be lucky to learn from him.

I came to Keith for help with my tendency to tighten up so much I could produce a note. He focuses on proper physical management of one's vocal instrument (body) to produce beautiful sound without strain. I now enjoy singing again and have improved my range as well as surprised myself with the quality of sound I can now produce. Keith is very supporting, full of praise, and a pleasure to work with.
