About

I have been playing dums for fourteen years and teaching for two. I provide affordable, quality lessons tailored to the desires of the student, with a focus on teaching you how to teach yourself.

I am proficient at drum set in a variety of genres, as well as rudimental snare drum. I have degrees from Finger Lakes Community College in Music and in Technology of Audio recording.

I am comfortable teaching from entry level to advanced level drum techniques. I also can teach the fundamentals of how to start recording your own drum parts for your own music

I can host lessons in Sodus, NY or in Rochester, NY. I also do house calls at extra cost, depending on distance.

It is extremely fulfilling to watch a student develop skills you have taught them; as well as gain self-confidence by doing so. Not only do I enjoy helping others, explainging things to students helps calrify my own understanding of the fundamentals of drumming.

My daughter is currently taking lessons from Jack and is loving it. I asked her to show me what she had learned. She was able to break it all down and was trying teach me what she had learned. Great teacher!

Jack has been an awesome instructor to have for my son. He takes the time to explain why different things matter and to come up with ways to explain things in terms he can understand using things that interest him.

Frequently asked questions

At the first lesson, I like to sit down, have a conversation with them about drumming and their previous experience, as well as getting to know the person themselves.

I have two degrees from Finger Lakes Community College.

Music Theory and Performance (Drumset)

Technology of Audio Recording

I have relevant previous work experience as a Drum instructor at the Webster Music Store, and as a studio musician at Finger Lakes Community College.

$20 For a half hour

$25 for an hour

I started showing my friends and bandmates the fundamentals because they asked, and I enjoyed that, so I applied to some local music store jobs and got hired, and now I have had regular students for over a year.

I have worked with children as young as 6 just learning an instrument for the first time, to early high schoolers, to adult hobbyists as old as their 60s.

I took a lesson from one of my favorite drummers in the world, and one of the best on the planet-Thomas Pridgen. It was both humbling and inspiring to see him effortessly outpace me, but to watch myself still absorb what he was teaching fairly quickly.

Find a teacher that makes the skill you are learning fun, and not like a chore. You'll stick with it a lot longer and get a lot better if you enjoy it.

What are your needs, and how can the teacher best meet them? What is your reason for playing drums?
