Premier Dance Performing Arts Center

At Premier Dance, we offer an exceptional dance education with some of the most highly qualified instructors in the Capital Region. We emphasize the importance of correct technique, as well as a fun atmosphere to ensure the maximum growth of our dancers. With 3 spacious dance floors complete with professional grade sprung marley floors, floor to ceiling mirrors, and a spacious waiting area, kids corner, and student area, we are well equipped to meet all of your dance and family needs.

Our Director and Owner, Miss Jaye Cummings, has been teaching for over 25 years. Many of her dancers have gone on to pursue degrees in dance, perform in broadway and off broadway shows, and become instructors themselves. She has choreographed numerous regionally and nationally awarded dances, as well as for the Capital Guild Theatre. Miss Jaye is dedciated to making sure each and every one of her dancers reaches their maximum potential under her guidance.

Our Co-Director and Artistic Director, Miss Skylar Hartz, has been training in dance since she was 3 years old. After a successful career in competitive dance, she went on to SUNY Brockport where she earned her BFA in dance. Working with companies such as the Bill Evans Company, David Dorfman Dance, and Trisha Brown Dance Company- to name a few- she has performed throughout upstate New York at numerous venues. In addition to her dance experience, she brings her knowledge of anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, and injury prevention to Premier Dance, where she strives to keep all of her dancers healthy, happy, and terrifically trained.

At Premier, all of our teachers share a passion for working with children. It is a wonderful privilege to be able to watch a young child transform into a trained and poised dancer. For us, it is the joy of seeing hard work pay off for our dancers that motivates us to continue to strive to be the best for them.
