I am passionate about teaching students how to use music as a form of self expression. I do this by tailoring my lessons to each student's individual interests. I encourage students to communicate what type of music they are interested in learning during the lessons. Additionally to learning repetoire, I like to begin lessons by reviewing scales and exercises which allow for focusing on techqnique. I have experience teaching violin and viola to students of all ages, but mainly have experience teaching students up to 18 years of age....

Erin fell in love with the violin at age seven under the instruction of Natalie Colbert at E. Rivers Elementary School in Atlanta, GA. She studied violin through high school and college, and received a BA in Communications with a Minor in Music from Georgia State University. After a lifelong study of the violin, Erin began to play the viola as a happy accident. As an undergraduate student in college, Erin’s chamber music group needed a violist to play the Schubert Trout Quintet. Never one to turn down a challenge, Erin jumped right in and never looked back. A native of Taiwan, I received my Bachelor of Music degree and Master's degree from Mannes School of Music. I began my musical training on violin and piano at 5.  As a performing artist, I have given solo, ensemble, and orchestral performances at various events and concerts in the U.S. and Taiwan. Her most recent collaboration within New York City has brought her to venues such as Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall. Ms. Isadora has had more than five years of teaching experience. She has a strong passion for teaching and enjoys sharing her stories and love of music with students of all ages and levels.

My name is Jarred Mercado and I have been teaching violin for the last 3 years. I am a Mathematics and Music Major at Hofstra University. I have worked with students from grades 3-9 on NYSSMA solo Repertoire from levels 1-5 on violin and viola and my students have earned scores in the outstanding category. I also work with students on basic technique, musicianship, and orchestral repertoire in order to help them become a well rounded musician.
