About
I am an actor and a director with a lot of teaching experience, as well as the founder of The Roundtable Ensemble, a not for profit theater company that provided access to professional theater, for New York's under-served audiences. I have acted, directed and produced for over 20 years and worked in both theater and film. I now resides in Westchester and provide am creating small group acting classes in a small rehearsal space. I am welcoming adults over the age of 18 of various expierence levels. These classes are about playing, having fun with this wonderful art form.
I love actors and watching their performances improve with confidence. They are the most empathetic people on earth. I provide a safe place for professional actors or people interested in learning this art form to practice and enjoy the process. Rehearsing with acting exercises, monolgues and scene study. I will offer sugeestions and guide the inexperienced and offer advice as a director to the professional with kindest and support.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have begun teaching acting classes for adults, here at my home in Scarsdale. I have just started this here as of January and am still in the process of building them. These classes I am developing are to have FUN! I have structured them so that actors can practice through warming up with acting and voice exercises followed by speeches & monologues and finally scene study, As these classes are still being built and I have some interest, we are only a few at the moment. Currently we practice Monday evenings between 4:30pm and 7:30pm. I am developing a list to invite for other nights, as I have other students interested but all finding the same time is proving to be tricky. So leave your email if you want to be on that list. I am keeping the price as low as possible to ensure a commitment for once a week and preferable two/wk for 10 weeks intervals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied and worked for years as an actor and started directing at the same time in both film and theater. My mentor Fred Kareman prompted me to start my own theater company, the Roundtable Ensemble Ltd. in 1999 and it was at that time, that I discovered my love of teaching as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Though I have taught all ages, I am currently only offering lessons to people over the age of 16. While I enjoy the fun younger students have with theater and performing, my teaching methods are more directed towards young adults through to any age. Classes are $150 a month and $25/hr for private lessons
How did you get started teaching?
After beginning the theater company who’s mission was to provide access to this wonderful art form, regardless of the ability to pay, we were approached to bring the practice of creating theater to schools in a partnership with sports and arts in schools foundation.
What types of students have you worked with?
Currently I am only working with adults over the age of 17. Previously, I have taught ages as young as 6 and as old as 76, both amateur and professional. They all have one thing in common, to feel more confident and at ease in front of an audience.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I sing back up in a rock band, The Scrubs. We perform only for charity. It was always a dream to be a PIP!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you have a desire to act well and not a desire to be famous.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Where do they see themselves working? How much work are they willing to put in? Why do they want to be an actor?
