About
Hello,
My name is Dora.
I am a writer-director with an extensive background in theatre and film (MA, NYU), as well as media and international communications (BA, METU Budapest). I consider myself a curious creative who enjoys wearing different hats. I write, direct, produce, illustrate and edit visual content.
I am a member of SDC, IFTA, London's Young Vic (Creators Program) and a voting member of Independent Film (Spirit Awards).
For the past 6 years, I have been working primarily as a writer-director in Italy, Hungary and in the USA. Through this time, I have directed musicals, pieces of movement theatre, comedy and Off-Broadway shows, touring shows as well as commercials, music videos and short movies.

I love supporting thriving, passionate individuals in their journeys. I am a forward-thinking and bold artist and orchestrator who enjoys talking about relevant, important and sensitive matters through her projects and love adding value to others' lives and art.
As a teacher, I have been leading class work, workshops and giving one-on-one classes since 2018. This includes both in-person and online classes in drama, film and movement. I have teaching experiences from NY (PPAS), Budapest and Rome. In the meantime, I have also took courses in coaching, which I have found a great tool to be for teaching.
I believe in combining lessons that boost one's creativity, expressiveness, playfulness, theoretical knowledge with teaching and sharing practical skills and tricks of the industry.
I am sure WE WILL make your creativity bloom, good energies skyrocket and confidence rise. Those will definitely help you get or build the gig you have been dreaming of. Believe in yourself and work hard, the rest will come! I am here to assist.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, we discuss specific needs, if there is a project or an audition we are preparing for.
I am happy to be stopped at any point during my classes. I take questions, clarify and act things out if needed. I am YOUR GUIDE through every modul and task.
First class, besides the needs, we talk about prior experience in acting, if any. After the first couple minutes, we dive straight into work. All CLASSES are PRACTICAL, with IMMEDIATE RESULTS.
We always start off with warm-up exercises, some movement or Feldenkrais tools. Then, we focus on the and practice BODY-MIND CONNECTION (1ST), breathing techniques. We learn how to focus on the task ahead why staying loose and relaxed.
From the body we shift to the mind. MENTAL PREPARATION is just as important as immersing in a character. From this relaxed, focused and peaceful state we start building the CHARACTER (2ND). We use both METHOD and MEISNER techniques, concentrating on building both the physicality and the emotional life of the part.
We do improvisations, build the character's history, relationship to others in the play or script, etc. Only then comes the TEXT (3RD). Words should always come last, once the character is already "alive" and has a fully constructed "world" to exist and act in.
While working on your craft as an actor is the cornerstone of our work together, we also have classes dedicated to answering questions regarding the INDUSTRY (IN PARALLEL).
We discuss:
-sample contracts
-unions and memberships
-self-taping do-s and don't-s
-headshots and resumes
-work permits and VISA-s (both in the USA and in Europe)
-press appearances and photo shoots
-website and online self-marketing
and MORE!

How did you get started teaching?
As a teacher, I have been leading class work, workshops and giving one-on-one classes since 2018. This includes both in-person and online classes in drama, film and movement. I have teaching experience from NY (PPAS), Budapest and RIFS Rome. In the meantime, I took courses in coaching and positive psychiatry, which added much to my toolbox as an acting teacher.
I have in-depth knowledge both in the artistic and in the business side of acting, theatre and film.
Moreover, as a writer-director, I will help you understand what professionals from the other side of the camera/stage expect from you as an actor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with both kids and adults, professional and amateur. I love to work both with individuals in one-on-one classes and with groups of aspiring actors.
I make sure YOUR CLASSES FIT YOU and your needs perfectly.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Most recently, I have been on a wild press ride talking about my newly published children's book, Magical Meadows, and new short movie, Comma.
Meeting exciting podcast hosts, journalists as well as kids and parents, have been beyond amazing.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would suggest trust somebody who is extremely DRIVEN, CARING and DOWN-TO-EARTH.
WHAT CAN WE ACHIEVE WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN? Without having a huge dose of passion? Nothing. Passion is contageous. If I am driven and dedicated, you feel similarly enthusiastic and unstoppable.
HOW FAR CAN WE GO WITHOUT BEING CARING AND KIND TO ONE ANOTHER? Not further than the nearest bus stop. You must feel valued and loved. I make sure you can grow in a safe and peaceful environment.
WHAT CAN WE BUILD WITHOUT BEING PRACTICAL AND DOWN-TO-EARTH? Not much more than a house of cards. You must know about the industry, trends and competitors in order to be a working, satisfied and joyful actor - and human being.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is important to know:
-whether the training would be a general or a project oriented one
-what intensity of classes you are looking for
-how much time you can spend on preparing for and doing the classes
-how much commitment and dedication you have for the craft
-what your goals are with taking my classes
