Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, and foremost, I am patient and understanding with students at every level. Acting is a personal process, and I take this into consideration when working with each student.
When working with a new student, I talk to the student on a personal level and find out who the student is a person (likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc), the student's performance background, and discuss what the student hopes to get out the lessons. After this, I structure the lessons to the needs of the student.
If the student has performance experience, I ask the student to bring in a monologue or other material he/she has worked on before to assess the individual's strengths and areas of improvement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors Degree in Theatre and English from California State University, Fullerton
Masters Degree in Directing from Roosevelt University, Chicago
For 10 years I taught theatre to middle school and high school students teaching all levels of acting. After moving to New York City over a year ago, I now have experience working with professional actors and children ranging from 6 years old to 13 years old.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do have a standard price for lessons, but after being a struggling student in college, I understand living on a tight budget. I am always open to discussing and accomodating my rates, if possible.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students that have no experience and with professional level actors. Several of my students have moved on to attend New York University School of Tisch, Columbia University NYC, University of California San Diego, and the Stragsberg institute in NYC.
