Ballroom Expression Dance Studio
About
I love helping students learn to dance. Not only am I a seasoned ballroom dance competitor, but am a certified dance instructor.
My lessons are 1 hour long vs. the typical 45 minutes most other students give. That is 25% more time!
My lessons are always in a private studio room! In other studios, the floor is usually shared with other lessons taking place at the same time. With my lessons, we can use the music we need for your dance, and people are less self-conscious knowing no one is wathcing them learn to dance.
It's very important for me that students feel comfortable and good about themselves while they learn. Dancing is a skill that takes time to learn, but learning should be fun! I love to see a person's confidence grow over time.
I truly listen to what the student's goals are for their lessons. I do not pressure students to purchase packages of dance lessons at one time. Students simply pay for their lessons one at a time, as they go, and take as few or as many lessons as they want.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask students what their goals are for taking dance lessons. Do they have a special occasion such as a first dance at their wedding or a gala to attend? Are they looking for a new hobby or want to meet new people at a dance social? Perhaps they are looking for a fun form of exercise or want to find a way to connect with their spouse.
Once I know what brings a student to dance, I am able to tailor the lessons to make sure they reach their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20 years of teaching experience and have dance certification at the associate level by the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.
I am also an experienced ballroom and latin dancer. I have been dancing for 30 years. I competed in International Standard and won Pre-Championship Standard at Nationals in Los Angeles in 2010.
Aside from competitive dance, I also am adept at American Style which is what is typically taught for social dance.
