FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to sit down with the new student, assess their level with questions, conversation, exercises and readings, and then work with them to determine what they want to learn in a long-range or short-range plan. It's all about tailoring it to the student's needs!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BA from Columbia University in French and a master's degree from the Sorbonne-Nouvelle in French theatre studies.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My flat rate is typically $60/hr but can be flexible.

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching privately in NYC around the time I graduated from college.

I've worked with adults, adolescents and children of all French levels. Beginners through advanced.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I love seeing all of my students break through a topic that has been previously confusing or inaccessible and master that part of French!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I'd say find someone who will tailor your lessons to YOUR needs and challenge you!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What do I want to achieve from my French lessons so I feel I'm getting the most for my money and time?
