About
I have over 35 years as a stage performer and voice actor. I have performed in over 500 stage perfromances in a variety of environments - Dinner Theatre, Outdoor Theatre, Film, Stage, Walking Theatre, and select voice acting projects.
Beyond standard, traditional basics of acting like character development, auditions, monologue work, improv, voice training, and physical performance elements, and understanding a characters intentions or motives to help them embrace each role more freely.
I trained professionally at the Youth Perfroming Arts Center in Louisville Ky. and Otterbein University along with many performance and character workshops alolng the way.
Clssses range from as few as 6 classes to 6 months, purely depends on students goals. Generally the extended training is when we are working on specific voice demos for voice actors (commercials, documentaries, narration, political, animation etc).
If someone wants to simply pursue voice over work as a voioce actor, I also have a 6-8 week class with production that includes a commercial demo to help them get started in the world of VO.
I enjoy helping students find their passion, to grow professionally as a performer, whether that is on stage, in front of a camera, or behind a mic for voice over projects.
Students I have worked with independently or through the Ohio Center for Broadcasting, improv classes, of for select stage performancers see my passion in helping them get better, to explore their boundaries as a performer and expand their compfort zone.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initial 60-90 minute consultation to set expectations and outline the process of training depending on what the client ultimately wants to achieve. This is $75 but if student decides to pursue classes, course work or chooses to create Voice Over Demos ... this is applied to their training tuition.
Lessons can be done via ZOOM ... very effectively but better if we can schedule at least a few in person. Working the space, owning your arena, taking comand of the stage - these work best when I can guidel you through the physical aspects of performance - stage presence, mirroring your stage partner, three quarters to the audience....things that are more easily coached live.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Litterally 35 years of professional, paid training as a stage performaer, actor, and international voice talent. Toured Eurrope in 1988-1989 with Louisville Next Generation - International singing & dance emsemble.
Study of the Arts at Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville Kentucky then Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. Over 500 production performances and stage plays, closer to 1,000 with repeat performances.
Film work has been mostly independent but I have done 5 film projects and national TV work including Chris Hansen and Killer INsticts on Discovery Channel.
I've had national campiagns with Sam Myers Formal Wear (1988-1989) - Megamind Movie (TV Trailer 2010) - Voice of Caterpillar CAT (2018-present) - voice of multiple national clients including PGA, WEB.com, TITLE Boxing, John Deer, Chevy Dealerships, Ford Dealerships.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I've been teaching professionally for over 35 years, mostly for stage, performance, and voice over for radio & TV commercials.
I began writing, producing , and directing stage plays before that, whene I was 14-15 years old so I was often times the youngest director so people had worked with but even then I was able to teach and direct others who were much older than me regarding their performances, motivations, and character choices.
What types of students have you worked with?
Young and old, men and women, and a few special needs children who thrived in the environment. I have worked with individuals who were just getting started and I have certainly worked with several who were looking to improve in one or more areas of their performance.
For voice over actors specifically, I've coahed or taught all gaes from 7 years old to 80, and everything in between.
