About this pro

My coaching goals are to help students develop crucial acting skills while also growing as individual people.  If a student leaves my lessons having grown as an actor while also becoming more empathetic, joyful, and confident, I consider their work a success.

I enjoy individualizing lessons to a student's experience and what they hope to achieve.  Each person has their own journey with theatre and acting, it is important to me that their lessons reflect this and are tailored to help a student meet their specific goals.  Watching students grow and meet their goals is one of my favorite parts about coaching.

After working with Corey, my skills and confidence as an actor have grown so much! I've learned lots of valuable skills that I can take with me. Corey is also very flexible.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First, I like to set goals with the student and get to know them.  Understanding why they want lessons & what they hope to gain is a crucial first step in working with a new student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor of Arts with a specilization in Directing & Theatre Education from Wittenberg University.  Currently, I am in the last semester of getting my MFA in Directing from Ohio University.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Generally, I charge $25 for a half hour or $45 for one hour. However, I am willing to negotiate based on need.  My priority is making sure as many people as possible receive high-quality acting lessons.

How did you get started teaching?

Over the course of my career, I have been lucky enough to work with some of the finest theatre educators in Ohio. Their leadership, teaching styles, and passion for the art form is what inspired me to pursue teaching.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students of varying backgrounds, ages, and experience levels over the course of my career.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I have been incredibly inspired by the theatre artists who are working hard to create art online. The ingenuity demonstrated by theatre artists during this difficult time has been inspiring.  It's been a joy to push the limits of what an online show can be and continue to create during the pandemic.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Hire someone who will listen to you and truly help you work towards achieving your goals.
