Embrace Argentine Tango! Tango is a great way to express yourself, connect, improve cognition, exercise, and enjoy life! Tango for Dancers is every Sunday at 7:30 pm. You don’t need a partner to come to the class.
Who is this class for: This class is beneficial for Tangueros with some experience who are looking to improve their body awareness, connection, and embrace. Also for people who haven't danced Tango, but do have a dance background.
When: Weekly classes are every Sunday at 7:30 pm. First class is June 6, 2021! See you June 6, 13, 20, and 27th.
Where: Dance Edge is located at 1156 Dublin Rd, Suite 102, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Located in the safe and convenient suburb, Grandview. The venue has a large beautiful smooth wooden floor and ambient lighting.
Turn when you see the red sign for ‘Rite Rug Flooring’. Then take a left into the Grandview Corporate Center. Plenty of FREE parking available.
Cost: $15 or 4 lessons for $55. Payment can be cash, Chase Zelle,or Paypal. Credit card is a 5% fee.
What to Bring: Bring your ID, vaccination card, and dancing shoes. Masks are optional.
I have a a background in jazz and ballroom dance, however I now specialize in Strictly Tango.
I perform in Columbus with my dance partner. Additionally, I was part of a Tango performance group in Los Angeles, California and Sydney, Australia where I used to. One of my other passions is traveling and have learned from top instructors at Tango Festivals worldwide. Amie enjoys teaching group classes, choreographing wedding dances, and teaching private lessons at Dance Edge.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Discussing experience level and goals for learning Tango. I cater to every lesson for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've intensely studied Argentine Tango since 2013. I am also certified to teach over 10 ballroom/latin dances.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$12 for Online Group Classes. $15 for In-person classes.
$90 for private lessons (a la carte).
I also offer packages that are discounted depending on how many lessons you buy.
How did you get started teaching?
I tried out at a dance studio in 2013 and got the job! I've been dancing since I was 5, so I am highly passionate about movement and dance.
What types of students have you worked with?
My youngest student is 16 and oldest is 70. I've worked with students who are competing, as well as strictly social dancers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love going to Tango Festivals and events. We have a Tango/ Ballroom night every 1st Wednesday of the month.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for a Tango teacher, I recommend learning for someone who trains in strictly tango because the body composition is so different to other partner dances.
