Having zero experience playing drums prior to taking lessons I was unsure what to expect, but after a few lessons with Jeff I felt I right at home. Jeff does a great job making sure everything is clear lesson to lesson. The best part about learning from Jeff is you will only get what you put into the content. Meaning if you slack on practice progress will be slow. So lessons are not only beneficial to your percussion experience l, they will also help develop strong character. I would recommend Jeff to anyone looking to get into drums, no matter their experience level.

Great teacher! I’ve been taking lessons from Jeff for a few years and there’s no way I would be where I am right now without his help. He’s been playing for over 45 years so he’s able to explain and demonstrate everything very thoroughly and I haven’t had any questions that he hasn’t been able to answer. Everything became so much less frustrating once I started taking lessons from him because I could actually understand what he was talking about. If you’re looking for a good drum instructor, he’s your guy.

He is an excellent instructor. Teaches proper technique, how to read drum music while counting and using the metronome. He is a caring and wonderful person, very patient and a super communicator and teacher. No matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned drummer, you won’t find a better instructor. I have been working with him for a year, and I look forward to my lesson every week. I can call him anytime and he is always glad to answer any questions that I might have.

I had not been in a drum set lesson for more than 50 years.
Jeff is just what I needed to inspire me to play again. He is always ready to answer my questions during the lessons. He has a vast historical knowledge of drumming. AND he has awesome skills
5 stars for Teaching, inspiring and personality!

I cannot overstate how helpful, kind, and knowledgeable of a teacher The Drumdude is. I have taken many lessons with The Drumdude (years!) and his ability to teach everything from basic drumming skills like how to hold your sticks and how to warm up, to how to read complicated music where each hand and foot are doing individualized parts is second to none. If you want to learn how to play classic and modern rock music, from simple to complicated - he cannot be beat. And if you are interested in reading any type of drum music, he is a huge help! I cannot recommend his lessons highly enough, and I use things he taught on the drum set constantly, both in practice and at professional gigs. Five stars!!!

IMO (as well as Todd Sucherman) "starting on the drum set is like building a sky scrapper & starting on the 10th floor."

A little frustration in the beginning learning the correct way to play will eliminate a "truck load" of frustration down the road.

Find an instructor that will give you a strong fondation on the basics of ANY instrument.

1st...Playing any instrument requires time... you have to measure your progress in moths & years, not days & weeks. So...

Do I have the time to put into it?

2nd...It's a "want to" not a "have to" thing...

Do I have the disposable income to make it happen?

3rd...What do I want to get out of the lessons?
