Focus on snare drumming & drum set playing. Wide variety of styles incl...rock, funk, country (new & old), blues, praise & worship. Flexible hours.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Assess skill level... Beginner- learn how to hold & manipulate sticks. Develop good rudimental & reading skills. Intermediate- Fine tune basic skills already required Advanced- Let student steer the direction of lessons to tailor to what they want to achieve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
5 years- private lessons
6 years- marching/concert band
40+ years playing expirience

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
IMO (as well as Todd Sucherman) "starting on the drum set is like building a sky scrapper & starting on the 10th floor."
A little frustration in the beginning learning the correct way to play will eliminate a "truck load" of frustration down the road.
Find an instructor that will give you a strong fondation on the basics of ANY instrument.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1st...Playing any instrument requires time... you have to measure your progress in moths & years, not days & weeks. So...
Do I have the time to put into it?
2nd...It's a "want to" not a "have to" thing...
Do I have the disposable income to make it happen?
3rd...What do I want to get out of the lessons?
