Music is a language we can speak to the world! It is my philosophy that music is the total human connection to not only the arts, but also to mathematics, language, psychology, philosophy, history, and science. From developing muscle memory to music theory, I have taught students for decades on how to become artists, scholars, and innovators. My teaching approach: I teach the guitar through independent study. What that means is that I will tailor a lesson plan for the student based on that students needs. We will focus on the types of music that you wish to learn and work to meet the goals that you have in mind. At a young age, I developed a love for music. I taught myself to play the piano at age 12 and have been playing ever since. I have 30 years of experience as an accompanist for church and community choirs, and have been teaching piano on and off for 20 years. Now I am ready to make it my full-time gig! With a background in special education and instructional design, I am confident I can find what method works with students of any age or ability level, and I will strive to make it fun in the process so they, too, will become life-long music lovers!
