I love to work with students to help prepare them for their musical future. I am an Emmy and Grammy award winning international opera singer with 25 years of experience working with college students and young professionals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I listen to the student sing a prepared piece - one that they feel really great singing. We then discuss their goals and sing through some vocalizes and exercises so I can hear more of their singing and ascertain where they are vocally. We then discuss their strengths and areas that need work and how we would like to proceed together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music in music education and a Master of Music degree in vocal performance with an emphasis in opera. I sang professionally in the U.S., Canada and in Europe. I am a high lyric mezzo-soprano specializing in pants roles.

$40 1/2 hour lesson
$65 full lesson (high school students and adults
$100 full lesson for professional/semi- professional singers
How did you get started teaching?
Originally, students saw me perform and asked me to help them. After I had a family, I didn't wish to travel so much so I got a college teaching position and stayed for 24 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught high school aged singers, undergraduate and graduate students as well as professional singers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take a trial lesson or schedule a consultation with the teacher to see if you "click", "speak the same language". Trust and a good working relationship is very important between student and teacher.
